Here is a cool idea for a party. Glass buddies will delight the party guests and if you write the names of the guests on the glass buddies, they won’t have any problems to find their glasses after a game or other activity.
You can easily make glass buddies to suit the theme of your kid’s party. Draw them yourself, find inspiration on clip art sites or in coloring books. Use the picture to draw a basic shape and then change the ears and faces to make different animals.
To make the glass buddies:
- Fold a stiff paper or board in half and draw the basic shape onto the paper with the back against the fold.
- Cut out but do not cut through the fold.
- Color in as desired and decorate with a bow or different colored paper.
- Place the front paws over the rim of the glass.
The finished glass buddy is about 7 cm high.
Right-click and save image template to your computer. Insert the template in a graphics program, colour and edit as you like, re-size it after you have edited it to be about 7cm high.
Decorated straws are also sure to be a hit with the party guests.
You can again use coloring books or online clip art sites to find inspiration to make these fun straws to suit the party theme. The above examples are from a card program I have on my computer.
You will need: Drinking straws, colored or white paper/board, a brush, paint or coloring pencils, a paper punch and scissors.
Draw designs of choice onto the paper/board, color in with pencils or paint as desired, then cut out.
Use a paper punch to punch two holes into the designs, one near the top and one near the bottom. Slide the straw through the holes.
