Witches’ Froth
You will need: (for 4 people)
6 bananas, peeled
3 tablespoons lemon juice (this will keep the bananas from turning brown)
1¼ cup (300 ml) fruit yogurt
4 tablespoons sugar
2 egg whites
150 ml heavy cream
2 oz (50g) chocolate
Mash the bananas to a pulp with a fork, adding the lemon juice as you mash. Transfer to a large mixing bow. Add the yogurt and sugar. Mix well. In a medium-sized bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until they are stiff. In another mixing bowl, beat the cream until it is thick.
Using a metal spoon, gently stir a spoonful of cream into the banana mixture, then a spoonful of egg whites. Continue doing this until all the cream and egg whites have been added and the ingredients are well mixed.
Place the dish in the refrigerator and leave the mixture to chill for 30 minutes. Pile the froth into small plastic cups or glasses and place back into the refrigerator until it is time to serve it. Grate the chocolate on the fine side of a grater, remove the banana froth from the refrigerator and sprinkle with grated chocolate.
Decorate the froth with a witch’s hat
To make the hat, cut out the shapes, as shown on the picture, from black paper. Curl the quarter-circle around to make a cone, bend the tabs up, and push the brim down over the cone.

Thank you for the wonderful recipe and hat making tip, I normally prefer to buy one as I am not that good in making one myself and also making an hat yourself is a time consuming process.
Thank you Steve,
You would be surprised how easy it is to make paper party hats from scratch. The great thing about it is that you can really personalise the paper hats for your kid’s birthday party when you make them yourself.
Here are two of my posts on how to make paper party hats that you can look at : how to make a party hat and easy paper party hats.
Have fun when you make the party hats
